Make a rate change for hourly or salaried employees
Tip: This page is for customers using Dayforce Time and Attendance for Powerpay.

Go to the

Search for your employee.

Click on the employee.

Go to the .

Click +Add to create a new record in the Employment Status tab.

Enter the Effective from date.

Enter the new rate in the Base rate field.

Click Save.
Note: The new rate will update on the timesheet, on the date entered in the Effective from field, once the timesheet is recalculated. This happens through a background job every night. If you change a rate for an employee on the same day you transmit the payroll to Powerpay, contact the DFTA Support Team to run a timesheet recalculation.

Click on the employee.

Click +Add to create a new record in the Employment Status tab.

To apply the new salary to the current pay period, enter the Effective from date for the new Annual Salary as the first day of the pay period or prior.
Example:Salary increase is effective May 8
Pay period is May 1-15.
If you enter the new salary with an effective date of May 8:

the new salary rate will not flow to Powerpay until your next run.

The earning statement for the current pay period will still display the employee's old salary.

To pay the employee correctly, calculate the wages at the old rate and the wages at the new rate. Enter the amount as a salary override for the current pay period.
If you enter the new salary with an effective date of May 1:

the new salary will flow to Powerpay and the new salary will appear on the employees earning statement.

The earning statement will display the employee's new salary.

To pay the employee correctly, calculate the wages at the old rate and the wages at the new rate. Enter the amount as a salary override for the current pay period.
Example:Salary increase is effective May 1
Pay period is May 1-15.

Enter the new salary with an effective date of May 1.

The salary will flow to Powerpay and appear on the employee's earning statement.
